We have an immediate and urgent requirement for an Independent Living Officer.
You will be working on behalf of the local Council and runs until 31st December 2023 covering long term sickness.
Because this role falls under the Housing and Neighbourhood Teams, we are ideally looking for an individual with good Housing knowledge who is able to provide an effective and customer focused service to tenants living within the Independent Living Scheme in the area.
However, our client is also happy to consider applicants with strong health & safety and customer service experience or candidates with experience of working in care who could apply themselves to a position of this nature.
Ultimately, the Independent Living Officer acts as a conduit between other agencies and the wider community to help improve services for tenants.
The Independent Living Officer will be working at Folkestone Council housing schemes based in Lyminge and Hythe so a driving licence is a must.
Rate of pay: £15.08 - £17.19 per hour depending on qualifications, skills, etc
Weekly pay
Hours of work: 27.5 hours per week around Monday to Friday
Hours of work flexible: could be 8.30am – 2.00pm or client could accommodate 9.30am – 2.30pm in order to meet childcare needs for example.
Driving licence is required. Business mileage is paid at £0.45 per hour.
Any experience/knowledge of the following considered helpful but not essential:
Housing management or relevant customer contact experience
An understanding/knowledge of housing and tenancy legislation
Basic understanding of current issues on social housing
Any knowledge of welfare benefits
Any knowledge of local national agencies that can provide support and assistance to tenants
Any knowledge or understanding of health & safety from a building perspective.
Applicants must be available for an immediate start and commit to the duration of the contract.
