We are delighted to be recruiting for the role of Area Manager to support the delivery of CXK’s National Careers Service contract across East Kent and East Sussex.
As Area Manager, you will report to the Regional Manager and be responsible for leading a team of Careers Advisers to deliver high quality careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) services in the community. You will be responsible for the preparation and oversight of innovative service delivery, monitoring the impact of your team against KPIs and ensuring efficiency in all areas.
The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual with a proven track record in sales and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

About You
You are/have:
A flexible, adaptable and highly organised team player who is keen to inspire and lead by example;
A target-driven individual who can deliver excellent performance through others;
An excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders;
Experience of working to Ofsted and Matrix quality standards;
Proven experience meeting performance targets and KPIs;
Strong negotiation and sales skills, both in-person and over the phone.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quick to understand internal software packages.
Maths and English GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
Experience of leading, supporting and coaching remotely-based staff to optimise performance is considered useful, but not essential.
Main Responsibilities
Manage a team of Careers Advisers, ensuring they meet revenue KPIs and targets. Perform performance management, reviews, and address HR matters as needed.
Collaborate with the Regional Manager to expand the National Careers Service’s reach, identify new partners, and manage local staff allocation.
Oversee daily service delivery logistics across various locations, including virtual settings, while ensuring GDPR compliance.
Provide weekly performance reports for both the team and individuals, utilising LMS and PIP as required.
Foster new business opportunities through networking and partnership.
Monitor service quality, conduct audits, and respond to service user feedback while staying committed to personal and professional development and adhering to policies and procedures. Additionally, be prepared for flexible work arrangements and occasional weekend commitments as needed.
In return for your skills and experience, you’ll receive the following benefits:
An annual salary of £33,488 to £37,715 (pro rata)
28-31 days holiday, plus bank holidays (pro rata)
Defined contribution pension scheme (matched by CXK up to 10% depending on length of service)
