What you’ll do:

Confident using a variety of power tools and equipment.
Strong understanding of health & safety in a facilities or estates environment.
Full driving licence and willingness to undergo further training as needed.
Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
You’ll be part of a team that values reliability, initiative, and a can-do approach. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys varied work, problem-solving, and being part of a supportive environment.

The Role:

Where you’ll work: This role is based at North Kent College’s Tonbridge campus.

Your hours: 42.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum, to be worked on a shift rota basis (earlies and lates) covering the hours of 6am – 7pm Monday to Friday. You will also be required to participate in an emergency out of hours on-call rota, which will require you to be on-call an average of one week in four.

Your pay: £29,492.70 per annum, plus an additional £100 for each week spent on-call for out of hours emergencies.

The College:

North Kent College (including Hadlow College) is proudly rated as an Ofsted ‘Good’ provider, with ‘Outstanding’ learner behaviours and attitudes (April 2024). With four campuses across Kent and 4,000 students, we strive to equip the young people who study here with an inclusive and innovative education experience to enhance their future career prospects, which, as noted by Ofsted, is supported through our high-quality, industry standard facilities. Each and every staff member plays a key part in delivering the success of our learners’ experience, and we want those who join our curriculum and support teams to share our passion in achieving this.

The Benefits:

In addition to a competitive salary, you can expect the following as an employee at NKC:

Enrolment onto the People’s Partnership Pension Scheme as an employee of North Kent College Business Services Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of North Kent College)
Access to free parking and a number of onsite facilities, including gyms, restaurants and coffee shops.
CPD days and on-the-job training.
