An opportunity has subsequently arisen for an experienced Quality / Health & Safety Manager to join our Management Team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of strong process improvement and QMS within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, along with solid know how of running and owning both external and internal customer audits from major brand names and authorities. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will support the promotion of quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation via close management of the following key tasks:
• Setting of QA compliance objectives and ensuring targets are achieved, reporting progress regularly to the senior management team.
• Agreeing of standards and establishment of clearly defined methods in conjunction with staff.
• Setting up and maintenance of necessary controls and documentation identification of quality related training needs.
• Ensuring the procedures are fully understood, carried out and modifications investigated as necessary.
• Management of internal audit structure.
• Management of customer complaints, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Handling of customer site audits.
• Ownership of BRC and ISO accreditation.
• H&S ownership for the business.
• Reviewing H&S systems and procedures.
• Regular H&S meetings.
To support this, you will be flexible and robust with good man management skills, able to explain change and have a positive impact on the business as a whole. A very good communicator, you will be comfortable dealing with people of all levels in the organisation and will possess very good presentation skills and exhibit an excellent level of MS office skills. Attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are equally essential requirements underpinning the role. The applicant should hold a NEBOSH certificate and an internal quality auditor’s qualification as a minimum.
