Role Description
The Service Managers role is primarily focused on planning, scheduling, and coordinating service engineers for maintenance and breakdown works. The role includes managing a skilled team of engineers, coordinating service schedules, liaising with customers to provide support, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Service Manager will work closely with, and receive technical support from, our in-house Technical Contract Managers, meaning a technical background is not essential. Additional responsibilities include optimising processes, maintaining client relationships, and contributing to business growth. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Rochester.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
• Experience in a service management, service coordination, or scheduling role
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication skills with both customers and internal teams
• Ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment
• Good IT skills, including job management systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable:
• Experience within generators, engineering services, plant hire, or a similar field-based service environment
• Experience working alongside technical teams or contract managers
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
Personal Attributes

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Confident communicator and team coordinator
