We are currently recruiting a permanent Factory Operative in the Medway Towns, to work within an engineering company, to join the Fettling Department.
Working 48 hours per week, 6.00am-4.30pm, Monday-Thursday and 6.00am -2.30pm Friday.
The role involves processing castings through a variety of tasks, including fettling, linishing, shot-blasting, etching, and band saw operation. This is a hands-on position within a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process parts in line with Technique Cards and Works Instructions
* Fettling castings using compressed air-driven hand grinding tools
* Manual handling and moving boxes of castings around the factory
* Use the touch screen system to log bookings
* Complete job cards, recording work carried out
Occasional Tasks:
* Linishing castings with an upright linishing machine
* Etching castings using a compressed air-driven vibro-etching tool
* Shot-blasting castings with alumina grit
* Operating the band saw
Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in a factory or industrial environment is beneficial but not essential
* Ability to work with small hand tools and machinery
* Comfortable with manual handling and physical tasks
* Willingness to learn new skills, with full training provided
