Are you an experienced horticulture professional with a passion for cutting-edge greenhouse production and education? We are seeking a Glasshouse Grower to lead the day-to-day operations of our state-of-the-art horticulture facility at the Thanet Earth Centre of Excellence @ Hadlow College, the UK’s only dedicated centre of excellence in commercial greenhouse growing!
This is a unique opportunity to oversee a high-specification commercial glasshouse environment while contributing to the development of the next generation of horticultural professionals. You will be responsible for the full operational management of the greenhouse facility, ensuring it runs efficiently, safely, and in line with industry best practice. A key part of the role is managing advanced PRIVA environmental control systems, including:
Climate regulation
Irrigation and fertigation
Ventilation, heating & cooling
Humidity management
Automated monitoring systems
You will monitor and optimise environmental parameters to maximise crop health and productivity, troubleshoot system faults, and maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and biosecurity standards.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong technical knowledge of greenhouse crop production and hydroponics
Experience with environmental control systems
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A proactive, hands-on approach
Commitment to health, safety, and best practice standards
Passion for mentoring and supporting learners

The Role:
Where you’ll work: This role is based at the College’s Hadlow campus, but the nature of the work may require travel to any of the college sites and Thanet Earth locations.
Your hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (1 FTE)
Your pay: £33,536 per annum.
