Practitioner (Carpentry & Joinery)

Do you have a passion for Carpentry & Joinery and want to inspire the next generation? Whether you’re working in industry or looking to change your career path, we have an exciting opportunity for a Practitioner to join our Construction Crafts curriculum team in readiness for the start of the 2026/27 academic year, with an aimed start date of 19 August 2026.

Our Practitioners are responsible for providing demonstration and practical instruction to students in the relevant curriculum area. Also assisting in the maintenance and organisation the practical resources and workshops. Practitioners are required to teach 500 hours per academic year and provide technical assistance to the wider department when required.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Practitioner in Carpentry and Joinery to support the delivery of high-quality practical training across a range of construction programmes. Working closely with teaching staff, you will help learners develop industry-standard skills and safe working practices within a well-equipped workshop environment. The successful candidate will prepare materials and equipment, provide technical support during practical sessions, maintain workshop resources, and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. With current industry knowledge and a commitment to supporting student success, you will play an important role in creating an engaging learning experience and preparing learners for careers in the construction sector.

The Role:

Where you’ll work: This role is based at our Gravesend campus.

Your hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (1 FTE).

Your pay: £33,799 per annum.
