We are partnering with a growing and dynamic construction business seeking an experienced Interim Senior Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is a key role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to take ownership of core financial processes while driving improvements across the function. This position will suit a hands-on, technically strong finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is keen to make a tangible impact.
Your new role
You will take full ownership of the monthly management reporting cycle, ensuring all outputs are accurate, timely, and provide meaningful insight to the business. The role includes leading audit support activities, particularly in relation to acquisitions and their integration, while maintaining strong financial controls throughout. A key focus will be driving continuous process improvements across the finance function, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reporting quality. You will also oversee Work in Progress (WIP) reporting, ensuring accuracy and improved visibility across projects. In addition, you will business partner with operational teams, providing robust financial analysis, challenging performance, and supporting decision-making, while delivering clear and actionable financial information to senior leadership and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified Accountant with extensive experience working within a SME in a management accounting role, along with improving processes and systems within a finance function. You will be a confident communicator who can influence stakeholders across the business. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems
What you'll get in return This is in an interim role initially for 3-4 months, office-based ideally.
