Overview
A well-established and growing Accountancy Practice is looking to recruit a Trainee Bookkeeper to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody looking to build a successful long-term career within accountancy, gaining exposure to a wide variety of clients and bookkeeping responsibilities.
Working closely with senior members of the team, you'll support a portfolio of clients with bookkeeping, VAT returns and the preparation of management accounts, whilst also playing an important role in maintaining the firm's internal systems and onboarding new clients.
Salary can be competitive depending on experience and qualifications.

Duties
Assist with bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
Process sales and purchase ledger transactions
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Support the preparation of management accounts
Maintain and update practice management systems to ensure client information is accurate and organised
Assist with the onboarding of new clients and administration of engagement procedures
Liaise with clients regarding bookkeeping records and information requests
Support senior colleagues with ad hoc accounting and finance tasks
Ensure work is completed accurately and in a timely manner

What we're looking for
A successful candidate for this role will possess excellent attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate work. Previous accountancy practice experience is not essential, making this an ideal opportunity for somebody looking to take their first step into the profession.
Any exposure to bookkeeping, finance studies or accounting software would be advantageous, but attitude and willingness to learn are the most important qualities.
