We are seeking experienced Complex Healthcare Assistants in East Malling to support a gentleman with complex care needs, including Fragile X Syndrome, learning disabilities, autism, Tourette’s syndrome and complex tracheostomy care.

The role includes suctioning, enteral feeding, medication administration via PEG, tracheostomy care, moving and handling and ongoing respiratory support. He may require inner-cannula changes, repositioning to support his breathing, and monitoring when experiencing wheezing or stridor.

Full training and ongoing clinical support will be provided, including training to safely administer buccal Midazolam for seizure management.

The gentleman enjoys a relaxed and engaging routine, including watching daytime TV, DVDs and videos, listening to music and attending activities. Supporting him to enjoy his routines and interests is an important and rewarding part of the role.


Shifts Available: Days, Twilight, Nights.

Responsibilities:
To show the client dignity and respect at all times.
To regularly refer to and follow care plans written by the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional person-centred care is provided.
To be an advocate for the client, working in their best interest and in accordance with Superior Healthcare's policies and procedures.
To be fun, friendly and engaging with the client around their interests and hobbies.
To closely observe and monitor the client and keep thorough documentation.


Requirements:
Minimum 6 months UK based care experience.
Full UK driving licence.
Full Right to work in the UK.
Experience in Tracheotomy care.
