Finance whizz wanted who doesn’t wear a suit
Tax Qualified Accountant – R&D Tax Relief (ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA; or Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training Course.)

We specialise in R&D Tax Relief but we’re not your run-of-the-mill tax company. We don’t wear suits or bamboozle clients with jargon. We’re fast moving, fresh and dynamic - just look at our website. We set up in 2015 and we’ve grown to 20 members of staff and accessed over £60 million for our clients.
We have our management accounts function covered but we’re looking to increase our internal capability with a finance whizz. That’s where you step in.
Our team is skilled and passionate about delivering amazing customer service. Our clients are exciting and developing in everything from crash proof drones, artisan gin, pig farming, motorsport engineering, pest control, cyber security, plastic soldier design, unmanned aircraft, to lightweight machine guns… and we are responsible for analysing and compiling the financial aspects of the R&D claim and ensuring compliance to tax legislation in our written reports.
You probably have a corporate tax background, but if you’ve ever worked in R&D Tax before, what are you waiting for? You’ll lead the tax quality aspect of onboarding clients and delivery of R&D tax claims. And if you don’t have the prior knowledge of the scheme, just show up with the aptitude and attitude and we’ll provide you with all the resources you need to become an R&D Tax Relief buff. However, it’s essential that you have a strong UK tax background of 5 + years in a accounting/tax role or 3 + years in a R&D tax role.
You’ll need a natural eye for detail and your ability to pick out anomalies and mistakes is just how you’re made. You’re used to taking control of a project and understand the importance of team working to get the job done. We spend a lot of time speaking to HMRC and we like to think we are a trusted partner of theirs. We pride ourselves on building good relationships with Inspectors and your role in this will be key.
Your role will require you to work closely with the existing team, reviewing some of their work. You’ll assist with tax technical matters including quality and risk management procedures and compliance, from initial client engagement right through to client deliverables. And if it’s up your street, you will also be offered the chance to support business development opportunities.
Because we’re small but beautifully formed you’ll need to be flexible. You won’t tut when it’s your turn to make tea, and you won’t mind doing some data entry if it’s an “all hands to the deck” day.
