Legal Secretary
Direction Law is a firm proudly built on relationships. With a staff of over 150, and with 40 years of experience, we are a niche firm offering a range of conveyancing and other legal services to Private Individuals, Housing Providers and Business clients.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Secretary to join our Post Completions department. This role covers Monday to Friday, 8.30 -17.00.
You will support the team in the effective delivery of client service in a timely manner. You will also administer daily work to a high standard and make an excellent contribution to the financial success of the team
Ideally you will have previous experience of working in the legal environment but it is essential that you are able to demonstrate strong administrative skills.
Key responsibilities:-
• To assist in the daily monitoring and administration of the LMS system and Lender Exchange reporting directly to line manager
• Undertaking legal secretarial work at the direction of line managers to include preparation and submission of documents and correspondence in the handling of administration and undertaking necessary procedures under instruction in an efficient and timely manner.
• To maintaining and operate a "tasks schedule" and at all times to act in the best interests of Direction Law with regard to the conveyancing processes and procedures to be adopted.
• Maintain and use an accurate monitoring system for chasing responses to correspondence and pro-actively secure satisfactory replies to correspondence. Specifically report on any issues that are incorrect or require investigation by Line Managers.
• Use audio dictation if and when required to do so.
• Participate in all training programmes initiated by the Line Managers.
• To adhere to policies and procedures of the Firm
• To administer daily work within the restrictions of GDPR, Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme and Solicitors Regulation Authority
• To undertake additional tasks as deemed reasonable to meet the needs of the team in the delivery of excellent client service
You must have the ability to work accurately, methodically and under pressure to fulfill the allocated roles and key responsibilities.
