Do you have experience of and a passion for working with schools and young people, especially those from under represented social groups? If so, this exciting opportunity in the University's Division of Arts and Humanities could be just right for you.

The role would see you working with colleagues within the Marketing, Recruitment & Engagement team and across the wider Division, as well as the central Outreach and Widening Participation department, to coordinate and deliver outreach activity, and making a valuable contribution to student recruitment and widening participation in higher education.

As Outreach Officer you will:

plan, and deliver where appropriate, outreach demonstrations, interventions and activities to potential students and partner organisations both on and offsite as part of a divisional programme
oversee the recruitment, DBS checking process, training and mentoring of all undergraduate and postgraduate Student Ambassadors involved in the Division’s outreach activities
develop the Division's widening participation offering to support students who would not normally consider going to university but have the potential to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:

educated to A level standard or equivalent
experience of working with schools and young people, especially those from under represented social groups
demonstrable experience of working within an administrative role
some prior knowledge and understanding of and empathy with the issues surrounding widening participation and inclusiveness in higher education
