Here at Chivers Plumbing & Heating Ltd, we pride ourselves on helping customers with all their gas, plumbing and heating needs and we have been doing so locally to Hythe, Folkestone and the surrounding areas since 1972.
We are a currently a team of ten, with our office based in Shearway Business Park in Folkestone and we have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service & Administration Assistant to join us.
The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with incoming telephone calls and managing diary for our engineers, amongst other duties (see job description below).
We are seeking someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, a positive can-do attitude and a desire to be an integral part of our team.

What do we do?
• We provide a broad range of domestic gas, plumbing, heating and hot water related services.
• We carry out high quality bathroom and kitchen installations.
• We carry out installation and maintenance works in renewables to include solar and air source heat pumps.

The role will include (but not limited to) the following:
• Dealing with incoming telephone enquiries.
• Adding customer details and jobs for our engineers and diarising them via our cloud-based job management system.
• General diary management communicating with customers and engineers
• Sending out monthly boiler service reminders
• Managing outstanding invoices / debtors and clearing customers payments
• Some elements of data entry / book-keeping / accounting / reporting
The applicant we are seeking must;
• have a positive, can-do attitude.
• be a real team player.
• have exceptional communication skills to liaise confidently with both customers and engineers.
• have strong customer service skills, with an excellent telephone manner and strong written communication skills.
• be capable of planning whilst also being reactive to deal with changes within the engineers’ diaries.
• be IT literate (requiring use of our main software Commusoft, Thunderbird / Outlook, Word and Excel)
• have a professional attitude and a strong work ethic.
