Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Responsible to: Nursery Manager

Purpose of job: To give full assistance and support to the Nursery Manager in providing a safe, high quality education and care for the Nursery children. To fulfil legal and statutory requirements and implement the Nursery policies.

Main duties and responsibilities
• To support the Room Leader in delivering high quality teaching and offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children
• To be aware of and adhere to all the setting operational policies and procedures
• To support the Room Leader with the long, medium and short term planning taking into account the interests and needs of the children
• To act as key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and other family members
• To advise the Nursery Manager of any concerns eg children, parents, safety of the equipment
• To attend training courses as required and to take responsibility for your continuous personal development
• To adhere to the confidentiality policy; any information regarding children, their families and staff which is acquired as part of the job role
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or Room Leader

Essential Criteria
• Proven experience of working in a childcare setting
• Have a full and relevant qualification in childcare, Level 3 minimum
• Sound understanding of child development and the EYFS
• Good IT ability for observation reporting on our Parent Portal

All applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check prior to employment.
