We are looking for a skilled professional to join our client in Canterbury for a 14 month maternity cover.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant academic environment, contributing to both day-to-day financial operations and exciting project work.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the general accounting functions, including managing accounts payable/ receivable, payroll, and budget preparation.
- Conduct financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Collaborate with various departments to support financial planning and analysis.
- Lead and participate in financial projects aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of audit processes and liaise with external auditors as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role, ideally within the education sector.
- Accountancy qualification - ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA/ QBE considered 
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

DBS will be required.
