We have a vacancy for an Assistant to a Conveyancer in our Shared Ownership Resales team based in our East Kent office. This is a full-time office-based role covers 08.30 – 17.00, Monday to Friday and is inclusive of a one-hour lunch break.
This is an administration and customer service based role and you will be working alongside and supporting an experienced Conveyancer progressing clients conveyancing transactions. You will become the main point of contact on client files, dealing with the clients, Housing Associations and their solicitors, estate agencies, mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers. You will also support your Conveyancer by dealing with the administration of documentation required on sale and purchase transactions.
Prior experience is not a requirement (though experience in conveyancing would be advantageous), but having a positive, flexible and professional approach is a must. Full on-the-job training and support will be provided.
Key Duties of the Role:
Supporting clients from the point of instruction to exchange with regular communication and updates (by both telephone and email communication);
Preparing documentation for clients to read and sign on both sale and purchase transactions;
Utilising third party websites such as Land Registry, Lender portals and search company portals to progress transactions;
Providing regular communication with housing associations, estate agencies, solicitors, mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers on behalf of the client;
To undertake additional tasks as deemed reasonable to meet the needs of the team in the delivery of excellent client customer service.
Requirements for the Role:
Client and customer service focussed with the ability to maintain effective communication throughout the process, and managing client requirements;
Ability to prioritise your workload;
Use IT systems efficiently;
Good interpersonal skills and telephone manner;
Highly organised with a keen eye for detail;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A – C/9-4 or equivalent is essential, English Language or Literature being one of the 5 GCSE’s obtained;
Previous administrative or customer service experience is essential.
Conveyancing experience is advantageous but not required.
