Recently opened in 2021, the Anatomy Learning Centre is a licenced cadaveric facility offering anatomy teaching via Thiel embalmed cadaveric dissection, anatomical prosections and plastic models. The ALC supports medical students from Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) and a number of health-related disciplines within the Faculty of Medicine Health and Social Care (FMHSC).


We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Anatomy Learning Centre (ALC) team to provide a high-quality technical service and facilitate the creation new resources for students within FMHSC and KMMS.


The successful candidate will provide a range of technical support for teaching and the delivery of anatomy sessions to students working within the Anatomy Learning Centre, in collaboration with Academic staff and under the direction of the Technical Director. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have high attention to detail.


The successful candidate will contribute to the day-to-day operations and safety of the Anatomy Learning Centre. The successful candidate will support the preparation of prosecutions and embalming duties and will also assist with the administrative duties. This will include the administration of the statutory record keeping required by the Human Tissue Act and health and safety legislation, acting as a persons designate under the Human Tissue Authority Licence. The successful candidate will also plan, coordinate and order technical equipment and all necessary consumables for the smooth running of the facility within a given budget.


The post holder will have experience of working in the anatomy or mortuary sector. Previous experience in a leadership role, advanced technical capabilities, and an ability to juggle many competing demands would be desirable.
