Are you an experienced HR practitioner looking for a flexible working opportunity specialising in transactional HR activity or, are you an experienced professional looking to move into a career in Human Resources? If so, we have an exciting opportunity undertaking a busy and varied role.

Providing a first-class HR service to the University as part of the Onboarding team, you will undertake a variety of HR administrative duties, including tasks relating to new starter onboarding processes which includes producing accurate and timely contract documentation, completing all relevant pre-employment checks (including Right to Work, references, Health Clearance and DBS ), supporting systems set up and housekeeping tasks, ensuring that relevant systems are maintained and annual University-wide processes are implemented.

You will also support the provision of relevant advice and guidance on a range of HR processes and policies and offer first line HR systems support to the wide community of users. At an exciting point in the delivery of the University’s People Strategy, this role also involves an opportunity to contribute to project work to help shape the future of HR services and administration at Canterbury Christ Church University as we move to a more People focused service.

Working as part of a team will be important to you, and you will enjoy both managing your own workload and working with other team members to ensure the wider workload is covered and excellence in customer service maintained. With solid experience in administration and the use of Integrated Information Systems, you will be able to demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and IT skills and be able to manage conflicting priorities in order to ensure timely processing of staff records in time for monthly payroll.

How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected (Professional Services) Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.

It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
