If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a newly designed Student and Academic Services (SAS) Directorate at Canterbury Christ Church University.

As part of the Academic Engagement (Learning Skills) team, you will work closely with a well-established and highly regarded team of Learning Developers and Academic Librarians. This team delivers academic skills, information literacies, research skills, and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) workshops, tutorials and digital learning content across all courses in the University.

What will you be doing?

As a Learning Developer (Maths) you will provide specialist expertise and support to students and academics in mathematics/statistics skills and literacies.

You will work closely with course teams to enhance student attainment and progression with embedded, contextualised, and inclusive support through workshops, 1-2-1 tutorials, and bespoke digital content. You will contribute to inclusive curriculum development, supporting academics to scaffold numeracy across our courses.

You will hold a postgraduate teaching qualification or possess substantial relevant experience, along with a degree in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline.

You will have a strong understanding of the higher education landscape and experience supporting student learning within this context. Proven ability to design and deliver embedded or contextualised mathematics and statistics programmes is essential, as is experience in creating interactive online content to enhance learning.

You should be familiar with virtual learning environments and the benefits of technology-enhanced learning. Additionally, you will demonstrate sound knowledge of key learning theories and pedagogic methods, with a track record of applying these effectively in practice.

How will you work?

Working Hours- 0.9 FTE

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible for this role attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus.
