Background of department/role
An active and engaging role, managing and leading on our mentoring offer to students, to support academic and career progression.
The purpose of this role is to lead on our mentoring offer to students (both alumni to student, and peer mentoring). You will recruit, train, match, manage and support our mentors and mentees throughout the process, evaluating impact and outcomes and widening participation within the university. You will have a clear idea of the role mentoring can plan in supporting students, and also the benefits that mentors can gain from the experience. This role strongly aligns with our commitment to supporting students to progress into meaningful careers, raising aspirations, and supporting social mobility.
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible.Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
