We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Lecturer in Nursing to join our team and contribute to the development and delivery of our Health Foundation course, which provides an accessible route into our pre-registration nursing programmes.

This course supports students from diverse backgrounds to develop the academic, personal, and professional skills needed to thrive in degree-level study and, ultimately, in nursing practice. You will play a pivotal role in helping learners build confidence, engage with key concepts in health and social care, and prepare for progression to undergraduate nursing pathways.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary academic team, you will teach, assess, and provide pastoral and academic support, ensuring an inclusive and empowering learning experience for all students.

You will also contribute to our pre-registration nursing programmes, helping students continue their journey to becoming a registered nurse, supporting them to further develop the confidence, and compassion required to deliver safe and effective nursing care.

You will be a registered nurse (NMC) with experience in either clinical practice, education, or both, and a passion for supporting learners at the start of their journey into healthcare.

You will bring enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to inclusive education, widening participation, and student success. Experience in academic skills development, health sciences, or foundation-level teaching would be particularly welcome.

Essential requirements include:

NMC registration as a nurse or nursing associate (any field of practice)
Undergraduate Honours Degree in a Nursing related subject
Commitment to supporting diverse learners and inclusive pedagogy

Desirable attributes:

Master's degree or higher (or willingness to undertake)

Experience in teaching or facilitating learning in higher or further education
Fellowship of Advance HE (or willingness to achieve)
Experience supporting students transitioning to higher education

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected.

Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus.
